Think changing the price of your course on Teachable is easy?
Well, it is – but if you miss a step, you could accidentally close your course to new enrollments! We've had many clients try change their price only to forget one key step that effectively closes the course.
By the end of this post, you'll know exactly how to update your price on Teachable without causing any accidental enrollment issues!
Let's dive in!

Step #1: Archive your old pricing plan
On Teachable, you can't edit the price of a plan directly once it's been created. Instead, you'll need to archive your old one and then create a new one.
Open your Teachable school.
Go to Courses.
Click on the name of your course.
Go to Pricing in the sidebar.
Click the Trash icon next to the plan you want to archive.
Note: Archiving a pricing plan doesn’t remove enrolled students. It just stops new people signing up through that plan.
Step #2: Create a new pricing plan
Now you'll need to create a new pricing plan with your updated price.
Open your Teachable school.
Go to Courses.
Click on the name of your course.
Go to Pricing in the sidebar.
Click the Add Pricing Plan.
Configure the settings however you'd like.
Click the Add Pricing Plan.
IMPORTANT: Don't stop here! You might have created your pricing plan, but that doesn't mean it's visible on your school. If you just archived your only pricing plan and you don't add this one to your sales page, your course is basically closed! Nobody can enroll.
Step #3: Add the new plan to the sales page
This is the step a lot of people miss!
Open your Teachable school.
Go to Courses.
Click on the name of your course.
Click Sales pages in the sidebar.
Click Edit next to the sales page (the top one).
For each Pricing block on the page:
Click on the block to bring up the sidebar settings.
Select your new pricing plan from the Select Pricing Plan dropdown.
For each Button block on the page:
Click on the block to bring up the sidebar settings.
If this is a Go to Checkout page button, make sure a plan is selected in the Pricing Plan dropdown.
For each Banner block on the page:
Click on the block to bring up the sidebar settings.
If this is a Go to Checkout page button, make sure a plan is selected in the Pricing Plan dropdown.
Click Update in the top right.
Now, your new pricing plan should appear on the sales page and all of your checkout buttons should work too.
